1.Prohibition Kitchen
Prohibition Kitchen is a vibrant gastropub that blends a 1920’s speakeasy vibe with modern culinary foods. During our time there and due to popularity, it was a 1 hour and 20-minute wait. The wait at one point was over 2 hours so they stopped taking reservations so make sure to get their early for a guaranteed seat. The atmosphere with its speakeasy vibe and original colonial structure is constantly busy with live music and live entertainment. You can order craft cocktails and gourmet foods from burgers, salads, ribeye, seafood, desserts and more. This place is definitely worth the wait as the food was sooo good!! Foods we ordered include The Bootlegger Burger with smoked bacon, fried pickled green tomato, pimento cheese for $16. PK Signature burger with red dragon cheese, fried egg, red onion jam, and perfectly seasoned fries for $17 So so good! (2022 prices)
Address: 119 St. George St
Hours: Monday to Sunday 11am to 10pm. Late night menu Friday to Saturday 10pm to 1am.
The food was so amazing!!! Did I say that already :-)
2. Maple Street Biscuit Company
An absolute must visit is Maple Street Biscuit Company. Here you will find southern-inspired breakfast and brunch menu items. Their signature flaky biscuits are made fresh daily and are served alongside hearty sandwich options. You can find dishes such as fried chicken, bacon, spicy sausage gravy, hot honey, egg, and more on a delicious biscuit. Stop in for breakfast for their savory iced cinnamon rolls, a sweet way to start your day. They also serve refreshing lemonades, and we tried the Peach-Berry lemonade which was the best lemonade I have ever had. So sweet and delicious!
Address: 39 Cordova Street
Hours: Monday to Sunday 7am to 3pm
3. MOJO BBQ
Ready for some delicious BBQ? If so, you need to stop at MOJO BBQ. Here you will find some amazingly good food with a southern barbeque flavor in a rustic setting. You can find smoked meats to include beef brisket, St Louis spareribs, pit smoked chicken, catfish, sandwiches and signature North Carolina style pork or try the Three Meat Combo where you can sample different meats and flavors. Each table is lined with different sauces you can add to your meat for a special compliment. You can also find a full-service bar for whiskey, cocktails, and beer. Find indoor and outdoor seating.
Address: 5 Cordova Street
Hours: Sunday to Tuesday 11am to 9pm, Wednesday to Thursday 11am to 10pm, Friday to Saturday 11am to 11pm.
4. Forgotten Tonic
This is a restaurant that was on my list to try while visiting St Augustine, unfortunately, we were not able to eat here due to not having a reservation. This is the only restaurant on this list that we were not able to eat at, but I wanted to include it as it has good reviews and if you can make advanced reservations, then I highly recommend you try this place.
The Forgotten Tonic is a restaurant and cocktail bar hidden away from the city center and located in the historic arts district but still within walking distance. This smaller cozy restaurant blends old-world European charm with modern flair for a memorable experience. They have many signature dishes from the FT Burger on a pretzel bun, Fish sandwich either grilled or blackened redfish, or Cajun egg rolls. You will also find an extensive wine list or hand-crafted cocktails to top off your meal.
Address: 6 Aviles Street
Hours: Sunday to Thursday 11am to 11pm, Friday to Saturday 11am to 12am
5. Salt Life Food Shack
Enjoying my meal with a view of the ocean, yes please! Salt Life Food Shack is located across the street from St Augustine Beach (St. John’s County Ocean Pier) where you can find free parking if the parking at the restaurant is full. Here you will find a two-story restaurant with rooftop seating with ocean views. This laid-back atmosphere showcases live music at 6pm creating a fun vibe as you enjoy your evening meal.
You will find tacos, burgers, fresh seafood, sushi, Poke Bowl, and more. Many different flavors of foods to choose from either as a casual lunch or a lively evening with the live entertainment.
Address: 321 A1A Beach Boulevard
Hours: Sunday to Thursday 11am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 11pm
6. The Floridian
Find this cute little eatery with Southern foods in the historic downtown area. The Floridian restaurant inspires to use locally sourced ingredients with seasonal menu items while supporting local farmers and artisans.
Their menu provides dishes for everyone including vegetarian and vegan menu. Sample foods such as burgers, tacos, shrimp or veggie burgers. You can also find a full bar and indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area in an alley setting.

7.The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops
We couldn’t resist the popsicles at The Hyppo. In fact, we loved them so much we ate at two different locations in St Augustine during our visit. The all-natural ice pops are made with fresh ingredients and offer some unique flavors.
Try classics like strawberry or mango or try a unique flavor such as pineapple cilantro or blackberry goat cheese. No matter what flavor you choose you will find the ice pops to be very refreshing.
Address: 48 Charlotte Street
Hours: Sunday to Thursday 11am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 11pm
The Hyppo
Again, we couldn’t resist the popsicles and made a second stop at a different location. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating at this location.
Address: 70 Saint George Street
Hours: Sunday to Thursday 11am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 11pm
8. Mayday Handcrafted Ice Creams
Well, as you guessed I had to find ice cream shops in St Augustine. We visited Mayday Handcrafted Ice Creams shop and found many fantastic flavors to try. Named after Americans who served in WW II. While flying in high altitudes with freezing temperatures, they quickly realized they could make ice cream in those freezing temperatures with a few ingredients. Mayday recognizes those who served our country.
The waffle cones made the ice cream extra delicious with their crisp homemade cone filled with ice cream. Find seating outside under the umbrellas where you can enjoy your ice cream in the shade. Enjoy flavors like S’mores, Blueberry Toast Crunch, Midnight Chocolate, and more.
Address: 100 St George Street
Hours: Sunday to Thursday 12pm to 10pm, Friday 12pm to 11pm, Saturday 11am to 11pm
9. Tedi’s Old Tyme Ice Cream
Another ice cream shop is Tedi’s Old Tyme Ice Cream. This one is located on the main historical path in town and is one of the oldest ice cream stores in St Augustine. Find many unique flavors and some classic flavors of ice cream, fresh squeezed lemonade, coffee, lattes, and more. They make their waffle cones fresh daily so you can add your favorite ice cream for a sweet treat.
